The Green Lake Festival of Music proudly launches its 25th anniversary season this Friday, June 25 with 22-year old pianist Chu-Fang Huang. After moving to the US in 1998, she made her recital debut at the La Jolla Chamber Music Society series and soon thereafter won first prize in the California International Young Artists Competition. She has since had solo appearances across the country.
Her concert on Friday will include sonatas by Haydn, Beethoven and Prokofiev, a Debussy prelude and the well-loved “La Valse” by Ravel.
This is the Festival’s annual Kilbourne Piano Concert, in memory of Festival founder, long time board member, and dedicated amateur pianist Burt Kilbourne and his wife “Bunny”. The concert is co-sponsored by Drs. Helen Hansen and Robert Collier. A complimentary meet-the-artist reception follows the concert at Norton’s Marine Dining Room. |
